This is my thesis project. This project aims at designing a customized tangible virtual reality (VR) controller for a more immersive and enjoyable VR flight simulator experience. This study implemented a preliminary test and a playtest with a post-play questionnaire, recording players’ intuitive responses to the controllers and their gameplay experience in the VR game with the customized controller.

This is a 4 week course project. Aiming to create loneliness, we developed 3 mini multiplayer games and wrapped them into a game to give them a theme. Following through the footstep of the main character - Daming, players have to beat the 3 multiplayer games by their own, since this game is supposed to be played by only one person. However sad the process could be, the game has a happy ending.

This is a 6 week industrial research/VR experience design project produced by the Happy Feet Studios. Inspired by the movie The Walk, and due to the fact that foot visualization in VR is under development currently, we designed a tightrope walking experiment that looks at how foot visualization affects immersion through the lens of anxiety. The video below is a walk through of the experiment.

This is a 5 week game design project produced by Death Noise Studio with unity. It is a 2D farming simulation role-playing game inspired by the Stardew Valley. The game is about a boy named Johnny Appleseed went to his uncle’s farm and take care of it when his uncle left for a vacation. Besides planting apples, his uncle also left him with a mission to create the mysterious 'Applephone'.

This is a 5 week VR experience design project produced by the VRcelli Studios. The goal is to design a picnic game simulatior (outdoor games with just enough physical activity to kid yourself into thinking that you are getting exercise). The game is a redesign of frisbee golf, in which it takes place in a cartoon world with the actual frisbee turn into a pizza and the target turned into an oven.

This is a 4-week game design project produced by the Death Noise Studio. Sudoku Sink is a Sudoku redesign by combining the traditional Sudoku game and the traditional battleship game, aiming to redesign the traditional Sudoku game in a more interactive and playable way. It is a multiplayer game which treat the Sudoku board as the battleship board and aim to solve the Sudoku puzzle in order to sink the other player’s ship.
